Formulation, testing, and then the real test — your plant
Development at Forecoat India Industries starts with a problem a customer brought to us: a veining defect that would not go away, a nozzle that opened only eight times out of ten, a tundish losing more temperature across the sequence than the practice allowed.
From there we work through raw material selection, grading and formulation in our own laboratory, then validate on the plant under production conditions. A product only enters the standard range once it has held up through a supervised trial.
- Raw material qualification before any batch is made
- Finished product checked for the properties that decide service performance
- Application trials run with the customer, on the customer's practice
- Formulations revisited as binder systems and metal grades change

What we measure, and why it matters to you
Viscosity & solid content
Measured by B-4 cup and by solid content, because these decide film build in the dip tank and therefore the casting surface you get.
Specific gravity & suspension
Suspension behaviour after storage decides whether a coating remixes cleanly on Monday morning or leaves you with sediment.
Chemical analysis
Oxide analysis and sieve distribution on granular products, so nozzle filling and covering compounds behave the same batch after batch.
Tensile strength of pastes
Core joining pastes are checked on dog-bone shell cores applied at 250 °C surface temperature, the way they are used.
Refractoriness in service
Coatings are assessed for burn-on, penetration, veining and finning against the metal and section they are meant for.
Shelf life & storage
Every product carries a stated shelf life and storage condition, verified rather than assumed.
Have an application nobody has solved for you?
If your metal, section or binder system needs something outside the standard range, we will develop against it. Send us the casting drawing, the defect and your current practice, and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Looking for an adequate solution for your plant?
Talk to our technical team about your process, metal grade and section size. We will recommend the right product, pack size and trial plan — at no cost.
